The winner of Start-Up Chllenge will receive $50,000 in cash, $50,000 in AWS credits, AWS Support services at the Business-level tier for one year, and technical mentorship from AWS. That’s really attracting contest! This is the sixth contest that launched by giant book store & internet provider company.
According to Amazon, this contest aims torecognize innovative start-ups that are built on AWS’s cloud computing platform. I see this is a good opportunity for start-up who eager to engage in technology business, especially in internet-based business. Some ideas can be extracted from the social game online that offering educative, carbon-neutral game etc.
The idea of collecting social data (demographics, social etc) from all countries will help social scientist developing recommendation for policy makers. This idea also inline with the compilation data, open source on the world forest cover. So people from US can easily participate in forest rehabilitation program in Borneo or Amazon with easy access to AWS-support site.
This contest is grouped into four categories: Big Data & High Performance Computing; Gaming; Consumer Applications; and Business Applications.
