Top greenest IT companies 2010

A list of IT companies has been released, showing the rank of effort done by the company to provide economy-wide climate solution, reduce emissions from their own operations, and lobby for science-based climate and energy policies.  The Cool IT leaderboard is developed by Greenpeace, aims to capture a greater level of detail in measuring climate leadership across the IT sector.

The Cool IT Leaderboard ranks the companies by measuring the following issues: efforts to offer economy-wide technological climate solutions that contribute to global greenhouse gas reductions (40 points of total score); Initiatives to reduce their own global warming emissions (25 points) and Active engagement in political advocacy and support for science-based climate and energy policies (35 points).

Top 10 website properties most frequently visited by European internet users

Here top website properties with the highest unique visitors from European countries, according to recent comScore study . comScore overviewd internet usage in Europe, showing 366.9 million unique visitors went online in May 2011 for an average of 26.8 hours per person.

The study also measured internet usage in 49 European markets aggregated under the European region and provides individual reporting on 18 markets.

Google work’s on radical environmentalism

Green activists always use creative campaign to raise the awareness. As it shown in recent campaign for Bukit Tigapuluh rainforest in Sumatra island, Indonesia — The campaign ads created by WWF-Indonesia and David Tryse, with technical assistance from Google Earth Outreach. They create animation showing how the forest translated by pulp and paper companies.

I think Google’s technical assistance  shows “further involvement” of the world’s biggest internet business company on a type of radical environmentalism. Further involvement will push Google to face  pulp & paper multinational companies and their allies.
