Help rural poor with small scale bioenergy

There are ways of helping rural poor with energy-based projects, such energy efficient cooking stove to small scale bioenergy.

A joint study of FAO and DFiD shows, when produced on a small-scale in local communities, bioenergy can play a significant role in rural development in poor countries. The study refers to 15 bioenergy projects in Latin America, Africa and Asia involving 12 countries.

Most poor areas in rural area are depending on biomass for cooking and heating. About 80 percent of them sources from wood.

A recent publication of national newspaper Kompas shows a finding of energy efficient cooking stove. The stove has ability to burn a kilo of fuel wood remaining only a small of ashes. Supriyanto, the creator, called the stove as Kompor Jimat or energy saving stove.

The founder made the stove from used materials enabling rural people get it easier. He designs the stove so it works efficient while burning the fuel wood. Mass usage of the stove will decrease fuel wood consumption; therefore sustaining forest resources.

Why we should care on the development of energy efficient stove on the rural area?

This is a game for people that care about hunger and poverty. FreeRice was designed to educate every one for free and assist end world hunger by providing rice for hunger people for free.  I think this is a smart ways to fight world hunger.

Actually, how many people are experiencing hunger right now? I don’t have excact number , but according to United Nations, there are about 25,000 people die every day of hunger or hunger-related causes. One person of each every three of them is child.
