Here a list of top 5 greenest cities on earth. The list is revealed after months of serious discussions to find where places are pledge to be green.  Let’s check at previous post which revelas a list of top cleanest countries according to green indicators: both environment policy and public health issues.  Most cleanest countries are in Europe and only one out of 5 greenest cities is managing tropical forests.

Indonesia to make 26pct cut in carbon emission

At the G20′s last summit, Indonesia announced decision to lower carbon emission level voluntarily. The target of 26 percent decrease, as explained by the Deputy III for Improving Conservation of natural resources and Environmental Degradation Control Environment, Masnellyarti Hilman –was based on calculations of emission reduction from mixed energy and renewable energy including geothermal energy, transfer functions of forests (LULUCF / Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry) and peat lands use management.

Is this announcement really significant for industrial countries, annex-1 countries or it just political movement  from developing countries to heat up the next UN Climate meeting in Copenhagen?

Help rural poor with energy efficient stove

A recent publication of national newspaper Kompas shows a finding of energy efficient cooking stove. The stove has ability to burn a kilo of fuel wood remaining only a small of ashes. Supriyanto, the creator, called the stove as Kompor Jimat or energy saving stove.

The founder made the stove from used materials enabling rural people get it easier. He designs the stove so it works efficient while burning the fuel wood. Mass usage of the stove will decrease fuel wood consumption; therefore sustaining forest resources.

Why we should care on the development of energy efficient stove on the rural area?
