Come to think of it, Indonesia has the world's largest geothermal reserve but less than 4% has been tapped to produce efficient power. Well thanks to the World Bank, two geothermal plants are being developed with a top Indonesian developer. This will definitely help improve Indonesia's economy as a whole.

One thing that confuses me is why more solar power isn't used in hard to reach areas. Solar is becoming much more cost competitive, though for large plants coal is still cheaper. But I don't understand why more locations don't take advantage of solar for generating power, especially when you can locate it right where you need the power (and lots of small solar installations can be much cheaper than a large coal plant and lots of lines to transmit the power.
